Prepar pipe for insulation:
•Pipe handling; including carrying and rolling pipe down rails to be put in position to insulate on assembly line in productionwarehouse
•Operate saw to cut pipe and jacket to required length
•Operate band saw to cut pipe spacers to correct dimensions (these are plastic spiders that hold and center the inner corepipe inside the outer jacket pipe)
•Operate pipe scuffer-sanding belt used to rough up the outside of the core pipe to help insulation adhere to surface
•Operate pipe scratcher-power tool used to rough up the inside of the jacket pipe to help insulation adhere to surface
Prepare the pipe to be insulated by the insertion of pipe spacers (cut to proper size), heat trace channel and any other necessary items into the pipe system. ensuring quantities, sizes and dimensions meet specifications of order.
Requires being able to push the core pipe into the jacket pipe.
Pull chain through lengths of pipe installing metal cage over a heavy plastic plate that seals the ends of pipe. Wrapping pipe ends with plastic wrap and tape to seal ends of pipe.
Finish insulated pipe:
•Smooth ends of pipe remove excess material tape and plastic and foam insulation. Clean and apply waterproofing masticend seal (black tar) and apply caps (this involves using hand tools and power tools)
